Migraine!

Today I felt pretty bad, I have been fighting off a horrible cold and it's hard when all you can take is Tylenol. I got a migraine for the first time in over a year and spent a whole two days in bed recovering from that, but over all I have felt pretty good if I could just get rid of this cold!

Everyone Knows!

So we told everyone on Christmas! Everyone is excited, we wish we could have told them face to face but we both had to work Christmas Day so we had to deliver the news by phone!

First doctor's appointment!

Today was our first doctor's appointment! It started with an ultrasound and we got to hear the heart beat and see it on the screen it was amazing! It made it more real, although the baby at this point looks like a spot with a heart it was nice to know it was measuring on time and everything looked great so far. We are due 08/08/09! The heartbeat had only began to beat at around 5-6 weeks, the baby's heart rate was 120 (normal for that gestational age). The sound of the heartbeat was so reassuring. My OB Dr. Lowe was so excited for us, she knew how hard we had been trying to get pregnant. I told a few people at work the news but decided to wait and tell the family on Christmas.

Morning sickness!

Ever since we found out I am pregnant I have dove head first into the wealth of information available about pregnancy I went to the library and checked out numerous books and a few DVD's, I've scoped the internet, and even watched a few episodes of a baby story call it the nurse in me with the endless need to be informed, I just have to take it all in. Every fact, every detail, It's still so surreal, other than a positive pregnancy test, and a few extra trips to the bathroom I have been pretty lucky so far. Then again I am only 5 weeks 6 days today. According to my research the nausea usually peaks between 6-12 weeks. Today was the first day I actually felt queasy, I was getting ready for work and while I was brushing my teeth it hit me! Over all I have felt pretty good. Hopefully things stay this way!

We're pregnant!

So we went home for the Thanksgiving holiday and I had this weird feeling telling me to take a pregnancy test so we stopped at the Dollar store (ya the one horse town of Rineyville has one and that's it) and got a cheap test, I took it as soon as we got to my parents, it was about 9-10pm. Well there was a very faint line so we thought it's negative and went on about our business. Well after doing some research and taking into account the test sensitivity I later became convinced it was faint positive but never the less a positive. So when we got back to Columbus I took another test to ease my mind this time a more sensitive one and I used my first morning urine as directed....after a brief 15 seconds it was very positive. Marcus was asleep at the time and I woke him up screaming "We're pregnant". We were so excited, nervous, happy just a mix of emotions.
